Giuseppe Toia, MD, is a UW Health radiologist and an assistant professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
Dr. Toia specializes in abdominal radiology and intervention. He interprets medical images of tissue samples to help diagnose conditions in the abdomen and pelvis. He has a special interest in pelvic floor and genitourinary imaging (prostate, pelvic floor dysfunction and renal tumors), pancreatic cancer and abdominal tumors.
Though much of a radiologist’s work is done behind the scenes, Dr. Toia remains focused on providing patient-centered care. He carefully reads every image to provide an understandable, comprehensive diagnosis to the patient and their medical team. Knowing that his reports are read by both doctors and patients, Dr. Toia is sure to communicate his findings clearly and compassionately.
Dr. Toia conducts research focused on designing new imaging techniques that will improve image quality, leading to better diagnoses and care.
Outside of work, Dr. Toia enjoys hockey, hiking, board games and playing the keyboard and bass guitar.
I respect that every image has a person and a life behind it.
