Glenn Liu, MD, is a UW Health medical oncologist and a professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
Dr. Liu specializes in treating advanced genitourinary cancers. These include cancers affecting the urinary and male reproductive organs such as the prostate, bladder, kidneys and testicles. Dr. Liu cares for patients who are both newly diagnosed and those with recurrent (returning) cancer.
Dr. Liu’s care philosophy is based on shared decision-making. He believes that listening to patients is essential. He listens to their concerns and educates them about their condition and treatment options. He is excited about the many new discoveries happening now in the field of medical oncology and offers personalized care to best meet his patients’ needs.
In addition to his clinical and teaching roles, Dr. Liu researches new cancer therapies. This includes testing new treatments, improving decision-making processes and enhancing how health care teams interact with patients.
Outside of work, Dr. Liu enjoys playing tennis, hiking and fishing.
