Gordon Crabtree, MD, is a UW Health ophthalmologist (eye doctor). He’s also an assistant professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
Dr. Crabtree specializes in medical and surgical retinal care and ocular oncology (eye cancer). He treats serious conditions affecting the retina (the back of the eye). Dr. Crabtree cares for patients with diseases that make it hard to see, such as macular degeneration. He also treats eye damage caused by injuries, tumors or diabetes.
Dr. Crabtree performs surgery to help patients manage their conditions. He surgically repairs various eye problems, including retinal detachment, swelling, blocked veins or arteries and dislocated lenses.
Dr. Crabtree provides excellent care to people from all walks of life. He strives to create a warm, welcoming space where patients feel comfortable sharing their concerns. He involves patients and their families in decision-making to ensure they feel heard and informed.
When he’s not with patients, Dr. Crabtree conducts clinical trials to improve existing treatments for eye diseases.
Outside of work, Dr. Crabtree and his wife enjoy spending time with their dog and two cats, exploring the outdoors and trying new restaurants and recipes.
My goal is to create a stress-free, relaxed experience and give each patient the time and attention they need.
