Heather Bartlett, MD

Heather Bartlett, MD, is a UW Health Kids pediatric cardiologist (heart doctor). She’s also a professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Bartlett cares for children and adults with congenital (present from birth) conditions affecting the heart’s formation and how it functions.

Dr. Bartlett offers medical and surgical care for congenital heart conditions that are often complex structural defects. These defects include a hole in the heart and related blood vessel disorders. She also treats valve defects and other heart diseases and complications. She has special interests in inherited heart conditions and connective tissue diseases that affect the heart.

Dr. Bartlett communicates openly with patients and families and collaborates with other specialists to find the best answers for each patient. She helps people to understand their conditions, guiding them as they make decisions that suit their goals.

In addition to patient care, Dr. Bartlett researches congenital heart disease and treatments. Her focus includes heart failure and endocarditis (infection of the heart’s inner lining) in adults with congenital heart disease.

In her free time, Dr. Bartlett enjoys traveling and biking and spending time with her children and family.
