Heidi Beckman, PhD

Heidi Beckman, PhD, is a UW Health clinical health psychologist with a doctoral degree. She cares for patients who are living with a chronic (long-term) medical condition. She sees recently diagnosed patients and those who have been living with a chronic condition or pain for many years.

It’s very important to Heidi that her patients are involved in the plan for their treatment. She listens as her patients talk about their goals and what they want out of life despite chronic illness. She focuses on helping them find ways to live a life with value, meaning, purpose and joy.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Beckman enjoys traveling with her husband to visit all the national parks in the United States.

My hope for my patients is that they can discover new ways to live a life of joy and purpose, even with the challenges of chronic pain or chronic illness.
