Holly Benson, MD, is a UW Health internal medicine doctor and clinical assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She provides primary health care for adults ages 18 and older.
Dr. Benson’s goal is to help her patients live their healthiest lives. She offers preventive care such as annual physicals and helps patients manage chronic (long-term) health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease and kidney problems. She also addresses acute (occurring suddenly) health concerns like pneumonia, abdominal pain and minor injuries and provides palliative and end-of-life care when that time comes.
Dr. Benson enjoys getting to know her patients and learning about their lives. She strives to include her patients in the decision-making process about care options and asks questions to understand their health goals. She then makes suggestions about treatment and lifestyle changes they can make to work towards optimal lifelong health.
I allow my patients to set the agenda for each visit, and then work with them to develop a plan to achieve their health goals.
