Ian J. Goldberg, MD

Ian Goldberg, MD, is a UW Health cardiologist (heart doctor). He cares for patients with a wide range of heart and blood vessel concerns.

Dr. Goldberg offers preventive and general cardiac care. He sees patients with conditions that include chest pain, arrhythmias (heart rhythm problems), heart disease, heart failure, and lipid disorders like high cholesterol.

To accurately diagnose and treat patients, Dr. Goldberg uses several advanced testing methods. The tests may show images of the heart’s blood vessels or the heart’s motion. Dr. Goldberg also offers implants, such as pacemakers and loop recorders, to help patients manage their conditions.

Dr. Goldberg strives to foster meaningful relationships with his patients that prioritize empathy and compassion. Understanding that he meets people in difficult moments, Dr. Goldberg takes time to answer their questions and relieve their anxiety. Above all, he applies evidence-based therapies to ensure that his patients receive the best treatment available.

In his free time, Dr. Goldberg enjoys skiing, kayaking, pickleball, tennis, and playing bridge with his wife.

My patients can expect a compassionate physician and the best cardiology care possible.
