Jennifer Woodard, MD, is a UW Health internal medicine doctor who provides care to hospitalized patients. She’s also a clinical assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in the Department of Medicine. Dr. Woodard provides comprehensive medical care for hospitalized patients. She also consults with the UW Health home-based hospital team to provide high-level care for people who qualify for care in their homes. 
 
One of Dr. Woodard’s specialties is geriatric medicine. She cares for the medical needs of older adults, including those who deal with delirium (sudden, severe confusion and changes in alertness). She also cares for older adults with HIV. Dr. Woodard consults with her patients and families and educates them about their health issues, what to expect and how to treat their symptoms. She helps her patients manage their medicines safely, particularly those who take various medications to treat multiple chronic issues.

Dr. Woodard believes that good communication with patients and families is essential and that working together as a team creates the best outcomes.

During her free time, Dr. Woodard enjoys traveling, reading and her cats. I enjoy working to make a difference in people’s lives. I can’t imagine doing anything else.
