About

Kallie Harrier, OD, MPH, FAAO, is a UW Health optometrist. She provides general eye care to patients of all ages and has a clinical interest in vision rehabilitation, where she helps patients with sight loss use their remaining vision more effectively.

Dr. Harrier performs vision and eye health exams, prescribes eyeglasses and contact lenses and helps patients manage certain eye conditions. One of the most interesting parts of her job is that many systemic health conditions can present in the eye and can be found during an eye exam. When a disease is suspected, she is able to refer patients to the appropriate specialist within UW Health’s multidisciplinary team.

Dr. Harrier understands that vision problems can also impact a person’s mental well-being. She is committed to enhancing eye health and improving the quality of life for her patients. At the beginning of every appointment, she listens to her patients’ experiences and goals for care and after examining them, educates them about their condition. She believes shared decision-making with patients is key to providing the best care possible.

Outside of work, Dr. Harrier enjoys hiking and traveling. She and her husband have a goal of visiting every U.S. national park.

I want to help people see the beauty around them, including the faces of those they love most.
