Katherine Hass, NP, is a UW Health nurse practitioner specializing in psychiatric care for adolescents and adults. She diagnoses and treats many types of mental health conditions. These include depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
When Katherine performs psychiatric evaluations, she listens to each person with empathy, considering their personal needs, goals and concerns. She reviews her patients’ medical and health history, including any treatments or medications they’ve tried. She develops a personalized care plan based on their condition, personal and family background and related challenges and goals.
Katherine has a special compassion for teens and others struggling with depression, suicidal thoughts, cutting or other coping behaviors. She guides her patients along their personal paths toward better mental health. She helps them to identify and overcome any personal barriers to recovery.
Katherine focuses on her patients’ long-term success. She guides them through treatment steps and follow-up care. Her goal is to help them achieve and manage their personal and treatment goals.
In her free time, Katherine enjoys boating and traveling with her husband, reading and spending time with friends.
It’s rewarding to help people overcome personal barriers, mental illness or other challenges so they can live a healthy and happy life.
