Kathryn Sklenar, PA, is a UW Health physician assistant who specializes in rheumatology. She cares for patients with a wide range of rheumatoid (inflammatory) disorders, including gout (severe joint inflammation), rheumatoid arthritis and systemic autoimmune diseases such as Sjogren’s disease, which affects glands throughout the body.
Kathryn is part of a multispecialty care team that provides individualized, coordinated care for patients. She helps diagnose and treat complex diseases with multiple symptoms and challenges. She also performs clinical procedures such as joint injections to treat pain, swelling and other effects of inflammation.
Kathryn’s approach to care starts with listening to patients’ concerns and helping them understand their conditions. She builds relationships with her patients based on trust and open communication. She encourages them to ask questions and take part in their treatment decisions. Her goal is to support every patient throughout their health journey.
We treat the person, not just the disease.
