Kevin McAllister, MD, is a UW Health pulmonary and critical care doctor and an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Allergy, Pulmonary and Critical Care at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
Dr. McAllister diagnoses and treats lung conditions ranging from shortness of breath and coughs to asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), interstitial lung disease and lung cancer. He also cares for patients who have critical lung issues that require a stay in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
When seeing patients, Dr. McAllister takes time to listen and put his patients at ease. He asks questions and educates them about their condition and treatment options. After using plain language to explain the pros and cons of each option, he partners with his patients to make decisions that will help them achieve their unique goals.
In his free time, Dr. McAllister enjoys playing tennis and spending time with his family.
I take time to listen to my patients because that’s the only way to come up with a care plan that works.
