Khatija Vaid, MD, is a UW Health psychiatrist who works with patients who have been admitted to the hospital with various mental health and addiction concerns. She specializes in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and addiction disorders.
Dr. Vaid provides care for patients with ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, panic disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia, and various addiction disorders such as alcohol, opioid and stimulant use disorder. She uses a range of psychological therapy techniques and prescribes medication to treat her patients’ conditions when needed.
Dr. Vaid’s goal is to help her patients identify and treat their mental health disorders so they can improve their lives and function to the best of their abilities. She works to identify and treat their conditions and works closely with their other doctors to provide comprehensive care. Dr. Vaid is fluent in English, Urdu and Gujrati, which allows her to help a more diverse group of patients.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Vaid studies the chemical imbalances that create various mental health issues.
In her free time, Dr. Vaid enjoys traveling and spending time in nature.
