Laura Maursetter, DO, is a UW Health nephrologist and an associate professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Maursetter diagnoses and treats a full range of kidney conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. Maursetter has a clinical interest in disease prevention. She is deeply committed to educating her patients and giving them tools that they need to enhance their health and quality of life. While Dr. Maursetter is an expert in kidney care, she knows that patients are the experts about themselves. She partners with patients to build care plans that best fit their unique needs, meeting them where they are in their health journey. She builds personal relationships with each of her patients and works to calm their fears and reassure them that there is a way to make progress. Dr. Maursetter has a special interest in working with underserved populations. In addition to her clinic and faculty work, she works at an outreach clinic in Portage, works at the Veteran’s Health Administration and provides telehealth services for correctional inmates across the state of Wisconsin. She also conducts research focused on quality improvement care delivery. In her free time, Dr. Maursetter enjoys water skiing, playing competitive sports and coaching softball. I strive to form meaningful relationships, where my patients know we’re a team.
