About

Lisa Semmann, NP, is a UW Health nurse practitioner in orthopedics and sports medicine.

Lisa cares for people who need surgery to treat injuries, fractures and other conditions involving the bones, muscles, joints, ligaments and tendons. These surgeries include shoulder replacements and rotator cuff repairs to help the shoulder move properly. She also sees patients who need knee surgeries, such as repairs to the ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) or the meniscus (cartilage that cushions the knee bones).

As a nurse practitioner, Lisa prepares her patients for their procedures. She educates them about their injuries and explains how surgery may reduce pain and restore function. With patience and compassion, Lisa answers questions and helps patients understand what to expect after their procedure. She offers information about physical therapy and rehabilitation. As needed, Lisa also assists in surgery.

She hopes that each patient will feel better, heal successfully and return to the activities they enjoy.

During her free time, Lisa enjoys running, traveling and spending time outdoors.

It’s rewarding to see patients after surgery — when they can move better, without pain and do what they want in life.
