Luis Gaona, MD, is a UW Health family medicine doctor. He provides primary care for patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly.
Dr. Gaona treats patients with a variety of chronic (long-term) conditions, including hypertension (high blood pressure), diabetes, asthma and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). He also treats acute (sudden onset) health conditions, such as common colds, flu, ear infections, sinus infections, strep throat, minor cuts, burns, sprains, strains and fractures. In addition, Dr. Gaona provides preventive care services and wellness exams.
Dr. Gaona believes in holistic care that considers each patient’s physical, emotional and social needs. He listens, teaches and advocates for patients to be accountable for their health.
In his free time, Dr. Gaona stays physically active by practicing martial arts, going to the gym, running and hiking. He also enjoys reading a good book.
My goal is to help patients optimize their health through preventive care and advocacy.
