  • Radiology

Matthew Lee, MD, is a UW Health radiologist. He’s also an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in the Department of Radiology.

Using imaging exams, such as CT scans, MRI and ultrasound, Dr. Lee helps to diagnose and treat diseases and injuries that involve his patients’ abdomen and pelvic area. He is specially trained to interpret the results of these imaging tests. Dr. Lee also performs image-guided procedures for patients with acute (sudden) and chronic (ongoing) medical conditions.

Dr. Lee’s patient care philosophy is to empower people to actively participate in their healthcare decisions. He works to help his patients achieve the best possible outcomes.

In addition to patient care, Dr. Lee researches ways to use artificial intelligence to improve abdominal imaging techniques. His research looks at imaging methods to detect cancer, determine whether cancer treatments are working, and predict future disease risk.

During his free time, Dr. Lee enjoys spending time with family, listening to and playing music, cooking, reading, traveling and all things coffee (roasting, brewing and drinking).

Radiology allows me to use my abilities to positively impact patients’ lives and hopefully, brighten my small corner of the world.
