Matthew Lister, MD, is a UW Health otolaryngologist (ENT) and head and neck surgeon. He is also an associate professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
Dr. Lister provides comprehensive ear, nose and throat (ENT) care for patients of all ages. He diagnoses and treats a wide range of conditions, including ear, nose and throat inflammatory diseases, upper airway and esophagus disorders and head and neck tumors. He has a special interest in using endoscopic surgical techniques to treat sinus and ear conditions.
Dr. Lister takes a patient-centered approach to care. He listens to his patients’ experiences and goals and educates them about their condition and treatment options. He encourages his patients to participate in the decision-making process and shares his knowledge and experience to help them make educated decisions about their health care.
In his free time, Dr. Lister enjoys playing tennis and traveling.
When caring for patients, I break it up into stages: Evaluation, education, shared decision-making and treatment.
