Melissa Villegas, MD, is a UW Health Kids pediatric rehabilitation doctor and the Director of the Cerebral Palsy Clinic. She is also an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
Dr. Villegas provides inpatient and outpatient care to children and adolescents with conditions that impair motor function. Her goal is to help patients improve comfort and function in their daily lives. She has extensive experience working with patients who have cerebral palsy, developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries.
With family-centered care at the heart of her practice, Dr. Villegas places a strong focus on building relationships. She listens closely to patients and families to understand their unique goals, concerns and circumstances. Dr. Villegas takes time to explain treatment options, and partners with families to make shared treatment decisions that best fit their needs. She strives to help patients get the skills and resources they need to thrive now and in the future.
Outside of work, Dr. Villegas enjoys reading and spending time outdoors.
