Michael Chen, MD

Michael Chen, MD, is a UW Health family medicine physician. He's also an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Chen treats patients of all ages with colds, injuries and other acute (sudden onset) conditions. He also offers preventive care including annual physicals and well-child checks and helps patients manage chronic (long-term) conditions like hypertension (high blood pressure), diabetes and high cholesterol.

With a clinical interest in mental health, Dr. Chen firmly believes in holistic care. He understands that patients know their bodies best. Dr. Chen is there to listen to his patients and help them make informed decisions about their health. He aims to give each patient the education and support they need to achieve their best quality of life.

Dr. Chen values building relationships with the families he cares for. He’s always ready to answer questions or provide guidance — whether through an in-person appointment, telehealth visits or online messages.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Chen enjoys spending time with family and finding new ways to entertain his kids.

I want my patients to know they’re the most important people in the clinic.
