Nadine Fakhran, PA, is a UW Health physician assistant specializing in internal medicine. She provides primary and preventive health care for adults ages 18 and older presenting with a wide range of health conditions and concerns.
Nadine diagnoses and treats patients with acute (sudden) illnesses, such as respiratory infections, abdominal pain, musculoskeletal pain and skin concerns, as well as helps manage chronic health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension (high blood pressure) and arthritis. She also offers preventive care services, including routine physicals, wellness exams, HIV prevention (PrEP) and cervical cancer screening, and performs in-office procedures such as knee joint injections and skin biopsies (removal of small tissue samples for lab analysis).
Nadine has special clinical interests in women’s health and mental health. With her background as a clinical psychologist, she is experienced in addressing a range of mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression. She is committed to providing compassionate, culturally competent care and building a trusting relationship with each patient.
Nadine believes in empowering her patients to take an active role in their health care and to make informed decisions about their treatment options. She therefore prioritizes thorough patient education and values shared decision-making, taking the time to understand her patients' goals, barriers and concerns.
Outside of work, Nadine enjoys traveling, lingering in coffee shops and bookstores, spending time with family, listening to music and cheering on Wisconsin sports teams.
I think it’s really important to provide research-backed information and empower patients to make informed decisions about their health care.
