Neil Munjal, MD, is a UW Health Kids pediatric critical care doctor and assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Critical Care at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He treats children — from newborns to adolescents — who have life-threatening illnesses and injuries. These include severe brain injuries, brain bleeds, stroke, ongoing seizures, critical heart conditions, breathing disorders and other serious medical issues. His special clinical interest is in existing and acquired brain injuries. Dr. Munjal is passionate about helping extremely ill children get better. He monitors their conditions and provides advanced therapies to protect his young patients from permanent brain damage and other complications. Dr. Munjal uses a family-centered approach to care. He spends time talking with families to gather as much information about his patients as possible. He listens to their concerns, uses clear language to explain conditions and treatment options and works with families to make the best care decisions for their child. During his free time, Dr. Munjal enjoys biking, woodworking, computer programming, gardening and photography. Each child is precious. I help my patients recover from their brain injuries and reach their full potential in life.
