Pa Nhia Yang, NP

Pa Nhia Yang, NP, is a UW Health nurse practitioner who specializes in radiation oncology. Pa Nhia treats patients with gynecologic cancers such as cervical, endometrial and ovarian cancer. She also treats patients who have breast cancer.

Pa Nhia gets to know patients and families when they first meet with the radiation oncology team. Once they’ve discussed care plans, Pa Nhia monitors their progress during treatment. She communicates with patients, guiding their care throughout their cancer journey.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Pa Nhia was an oncology nurse for hospitalized cancer patients. As a cancer nurse, she focused on bone marrow transplant care, hematology (blood-related disorders) and palliative (comfort) care. When she graduated from her nurse practitioner program, she wanted to continue working with oncology patients.

She’s a compassionate and familiar face for patients as they undergo the challenges of cancer. Pa Nhia gets to know patients beyond their diagnosis. She helps them reach treatment goals and improve their quality of life.

In her free time, Pa Nhia enjoys traveling, eating good food, and spending time outdoors, hiking, kayaking, fishing and exploring new places.

I try to build trusting and therapeutic relationships with patients, because cancer affects everything in your life. I want to be a safe space for them.
