Patrick Meyer, MD, is a UW Health anesthesiologist (pain management doctor). He’s also an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in the Department of Anesthesiology.
Using state-of-the-art techniques, Dr. Meyer administers medication to prevent pain and keep his patients comfortable during surgical and diagnostic procedures. He specializes in regional anesthesia, which numbs a large part of the body, such as an arm, a leg, or everything from the waist down.
During each procedure, Dr. Meyer closely monitors his patients’ vital signs, including their heart rate, breathing and blood pressure. He uses pain control strategies that reduce the need for opioid medications and help his patients recover as quickly as possible.
His goal is to put his patients at ease and safely manage their pain before, during and after any procedure.
To advance patient care, Dr. Meyer researches ways to improve pain control methods and help people recover comfortably and completely after surgery.
I treat each and every patient with the same care and attention to detail that I would want for my own family member.
