Preston Stephens, MD

About

Preston Stephens, MD, is a UW Health family medicine doctor. He’s also a clinical assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health.

Dr. Stephens cares for people of all ages — babies, children, teens and adults. He treats sudden illnesses and injuries and ongoing conditions, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and heart problems. Dr. Stephens also helps people with mental health issues, including depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder.

To monitor his patients’ health, he performs physical exams and well-child checks.

Dr. Stephens’ special interests include men’s health and pediatrics. As a family doctor, he considers it a privilege to care for children throughout their lives, watching them grow up.

During office visits, Dr. Stephens works to help each patient feel comfortable. He listens to their concerns and treats their health issues. If needed, he refers them to specialists. He believes it’s important to educate patients about their conditions and how to take good care of themselves.

In his free time, Dr. Stephens enjoys running marathons, competing in triathlons and spending time with his family and pets.

The most rewarding part of my job is getting to know patients and their families. I work to help people live healthy lives.
