Roberta Strigel, MD, MS, FSBI, is a UW Health radiologist and a professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
Dr. Strigel specializes in breast imaging and performs the interpretation of both screening and diagnostic exams, including mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis, ultrasound, and breast MRI.
After discussing imaging results with patients, Dr. Strigel performs image-guided interventions such as ultrasound-guided, MRI-guided and stereotactic (mammogram-guided) biopsies, ultrasound-guided cyst aspirations (procedure to drain fluids) and image-guided localizations to guide surgery.
Dr. Strigel strives to make every patient feel comfortable during the diagnosis and treatment process and well-informed about their condition. She focuses on answering patients’ questions, ensuring they understand their imaging results and guiding them through the process.
In addition to her clinical and teaching roles, Dr. Strigel conducts research to detect breast cancer as early as possible using MRI technology.
In her free time, Dr. Strigel enjoys being outdoors, playing sports, camping, hiking and spending time with her family.
It’s wonderful to see patients doing well years after their diagnosis.
