Scott Anderson, MD, is a UW Health orthopedic surgeon. He’s also a clinical associate professor in the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He diagnoses and treats conditions that affect the bones, muscles, joints and soft tissues.
Dr. Anderson sees patients who have shoulder, hip or knee disorders. His patients might suffer pain, inflammation and restricted function due to injuries or diseases such as arthritis. He performs knee and hip joint replacements and shoulder surgeries. When possible, he performs minimally invasive, camera-guided arthroscopic surgery through a small tube using tiny incisions, which promotes faster healing.
Dr. Anderson talks with his patients about surgical and non-surgical therapies to help them achieve their goals. Treatment options range from pain-relieving medication, injections and physical therapies to surgery and rehabilitation. Understanding that surgery can be stressful, Dr. Anderson takes time to listen, discussing therapies, procedures and what to expect. He helps patients make informed decisions, so they’ll feel confident in their treatment choices and care.
Outside of work, Dr. Anderson enjoys traveling, hiking, fishing and outdoor recreation with his family, as well as coaching or attending his children’s sports activities.
It's an incredible privilege to be involved in my patients’ care and to help them through that journey and be a part of it.
