As an instructor with the UW Health Mindfulness Program, Sylvia Eugenia Ruiz teaches mindfulness courses in both Spanish and English. Sylvia has been a performing artist since the age of six, and over the past 10 years she has attended numerous international trainings in the fields of yoga, mindfulness, body ritual movement, performance, theatre and meditation. She is certified by the professional training program with the Mindful Awareness Research Centre at the University of California, Los Angeles. In collaboration with the UW Health Mindfulness Program, Sylvia has developed mindfulness curricula in Spanish, addressing both linguistic and cultural priorities. She is interested in the integration of mindfulness for Latinx communities and in raising social justice and environmental awareness.  

  

Como instructora de UW Health Mindfulness Program (el programa de mindfulness o atención plena del hospital afiliado a la Universidad de Wisconsin), Sylvia Eugenia Ruiz enseña cursos tanto en español como en inglés. Ella trabajó en el medio de las artes escénicas desde los seis años de edad y desde hace más de 10 años ha participado en numerosos entrenamientos internacionales en los campos de yoga, mindfulness, body ritual movement (movimiento ritual del cuerpo), performance, teatro y meditación. Sylvia está certificada por el programa de entrenamiento profesional por parte del Mindful Awareness Research Centre de la Universidad de California, Los Ángeles. En colaboración con UW Health Mindfulness Program, Sylvia ha desarrollado programas en español, los cuales priorizan idioma y cultura. Ella está interesada en la integración de la práctica de mindfulness en la comunidad latina en los Estados Unidos, en el incremento de la justicia social y de la conciencia ambiental.
