Ty Tanker, AuD

Ty Tanker, AuD, is a UW Health clinical audiologist. He provides care for people who have hearing-related disorders and injuries. 

Ty treats a range of conditions and regularly provides care for people with hearing loss, chronic ear infections and presbycusis (age-related hearing loss). He has a special clinical interest in tinnitus (ringing in the ears). 

Ty uses a variety of treatment therapies and makes referrals to specialty providers who may be involved in the audiology care journey, when necessary.  

Born with an audiology disorder, Ty understands first-hand the challenges associated with hearing loss. He also knows the benefits of using hearing assistive devices. His knowledge and experience allow him to connect with his patients on a personal level and use his own experiences to improve his patients’ quality of life.  

Outside of work, Ty is an avid unicyclist and musician.

I chose audiology because I can personally relate to my patients — young and old.
