Vanessa Rein, MD, is a UW Health endocrinologist. She’s also a clinical professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
Dr. Rein cares for people who have problems with their hormones and hormone-producing glands. She regularly sees patients with diabetes, as well as those with conditions of the pituitary gland (affects growth and metabolism) and adrenal gland (affects heart rate and blood pressure). Dr. Rein addresses concerns with the thyroid gland (affects growth and energy) and parathyroid gland (affects mineral levels in the body).
Dr. Rein also treats problems with menstrual cycles and testosterone levels. She has special clinical interests in pituitary tumors and diabetes. She enjoys supporting young adults who are transitioning from pediatric to adult endocrinology care. Dr. Rein loves developing trusting relationships with her patients and knowing they understand how she wants to advocate for and support them.
Always striving to deliver patient-centered care, Dr. Rein takes the time to listen to each patient to understand their experience and perspective. She uses that information to develop an individualized treatment plan that meets their needs.
Outside of work, Dr. Rein is training to be a black belt in taekwondo.
I enjoy helping my patients feel well again and really improve their quality of life.
