Waldemar Nowak, MD

Waldemer Nowak, MD, is a UW Health neurologist who treats adults with a wide variety of neurologic conditions. Some conditions that Dr. Nowak treats are headaches, stroke, movement disorders and neuromuscular disorders. He has a special interest in using medication to treat adult-onset epilepsy, which is often a result of scar tissue that forms after specific brain injuries.

Open communication is at the heart of Dr. Nowak’s practice. He listens carefully to patients to understand who they are as people and learns about their unique needs and goals. Dr. Nowak takes time to educate patients about their condition and treatment options and partners with them to make personalized healthcare decisions. He believes being on the same page with his patients about their treatment plans is vital to encourage compliance.

Outside of work, Dr. Nowak enjoys spending time with his children and traveling.

I enjoy building relationships with my patients and helping them improve their health.
