Yazan Fahmawi, MD, is a UW Health pulmonologist (lung doctor). He specializes in pulmonary and critical care medicine.

Dr. Fahmawi diagnoses and treats patients with severe lung problems. He cares for individuals with conditions like asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and sarcoidosis (which causes inflammation and small lumps in the lungs). He also sees people with disorders that affect the tissue surrounding the lungs and conditions that cause lung scarring.

Dr. Fahmawi blends evidence-based treatments with compassionate care to provide personalized support for each patient. As a partner to his patients, he helps them manage complex health concerns and find comfort in difficult moments.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Fahmawi researches new ways to prevent and treat fluid buildup in the lungs.

In his free time, Dr. Fahmawi enjoys traveling and soccer.
