Opt-in information
You may opt-in to receiving texts from UW Health (or its service providers) through a variety of methods, as outlined below. By opting-in, you provide consent to receive text messages using an automatic telephone dialing system . When you opt-in to the service using one of the short codes below, we will send you a message to confirm your signup.
You may opt-in to receive SMS mobile text alerts through the following methods:
You can use send a text to the following numbers to receive to receive text messages:
Text START to 62381 to receive communication related to visits, UW Health MyChart account, one-time passcode, billing notifications, prescription reminders, care management, research opportunities, public health emergencies and other operational or informational messages.
Text START to 24093 to receive important updates related to your health care.
Text START to 94359 to receive online review requests.
Text START to 91994 to receive online survey requests.
Text START to (608) 265-7760 to receive messages from UW Health Kids ENT.
You can provide your mobile number as part of any patient registration process or through our call center. Under the TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act) Healthcare Exemption, you automatically provide consent to receive text messages for services, scheduling appointments and healthcare operations activities as part of your established relationship. We will limit these message alerts to those we feel are important to provide you with timely health care information specific to your personal needs.
If you sign the UW Health Admissions and Registration form, this allows UW Health to send you additional messages to be sent to you by text (e.g., texts related to services, payment for services, research, feedback requests, and other health care related information as identified in the form ).
Message and data rates may apply. While message frequency may vary, we will only message you when appropriate. You may text STOP to cancel and HELP for additional help at any time.
Opt-out information
You may cancel this service at any time by texting STOP in response to a specific short code or phone number to opt-out of any future text messages for that short code or program. Or you may simply text STOP to the short code program number or phone number noted below at any time to opt-out of future alerts for that program. Sending a STOP request must be separately completed for each program number to opt-out. Sending one STOP request will not create an opt-out for all programs. This allows you to selectively decide what information you would like to receive through text messages.
After you send the message STOP to us, we will send you a reply message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive messages from us for that program. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending messages to you again.
If at any time you forget what keywords are supported, just text HELP to any of the short codes noted. After you send the message HELP to us, we will respond with instructions on how to use our service as well as how to unsubscribe.

You may text HELP to any of our short code programs to for additional information, or you may call 1-800-422-9701 or visit https://uw.health/help.
In a medical emergency, please call 911.
Security
Text messages are not encrypted. This means they will be unsecured and other people could read them. You understand that we are not responsible for the release of personal information once you agree to receive text messages.
In addition, we cannot guarantee the delivery of all text messages to you. Successful delivery is affected by a number of factors including accuracy of the mobile number you provide, sufficient network capacity, your ability to be in the range of a transmission site, etc. We cannot be liable for losses or damages arising from delayed, misdirected or non-delivery. It may also be possible that the full contents of the message may not be delivered to your phone.
