Daniel Abbott, MD, FACS, is a surgical oncologist at UW Health. He specializes in gastrointestinal malignancies, melanoma and sarcoma as well as ovarian, appendiceal and colorectal cancers. He performs both traditional and minimally invasive procedures to remove cancers of the liver, pancreas and stomach.

Dr. Abbott understands the types of cancer we treat can bring fear and anxiety. He prioritizes helping patients to understand that UW Health has expert multi-specialty teams and resources that offer the latest treatment and support after a cancer diagnosis, which allows patients to achieve their best quality of life. In addition to directing the UW Health Liver and Pancreas Center, Dr. Abbott is a professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology and continues to advance the understanding of cancer through clinical research and education.
