Aleksandar Stanic-Kostic, MD, is a UW Health infertility doctor and reproductive endocrinologist. He specializes in female infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss and in vitro fertilization (IVF) challenges. (In vitro fertilization is a procedure in which the egg is fertilized outside the body.)
As a physician and scientist, Dr. Stanic-Kostic researches the immunology of pregnancy, which refers to how the mother’s body accepts and protects pregnancy. He studies how the immune system regulates pregnancy and affects conditions like preterm birth and preeclampsia (persistent high blood pressure during or after pregnancy).
During his initial visit with patients, Dr. Stanic-Kostic carefully reviews their medical histories and listens closely to their concerns. He works to help patients understand how normal pregnancies occur, what can go wrong, and how advances in medical science might help overcome those obstacles.
Dr. Stanic-Kostic also serves as an associate professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Stanic-Kostic enjoys biking, camping and outdoor time with his family. He is also fascinated with technology.
My hope is to help patients overcome their challenges and build the families they’ve dreamed about.
