Evie Carchman, MD, FACS is a UW Health colorectal surgeon. She’s also an associate professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
As a fellowship-trained colon and rectal surgeon, Dr. Carchman performs surgery on patients who have a wide range of colon and rectal concerns. She cares for patients with cancerous and benign (noncancerous) conditions of the colon, rectum and anus, including inflammatory bowel disease.
Dr. Carchman specializes in using minimally invasive techniques, such as laparoscopic surgery, to treat colon and rectal conditions.
Dr. Carchman recognizes the importance of comprehensive support and prioritizes the physical, emotional and social well-being of both her patients and their families. Through active listening and open communication, she builds relationships with her patients based on trust and respect. She combines education, research and exceptional care to help her patients achieve their health goals and return to enjoying their lives.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Carchman conducts research focused on the prevention and treatment of anal cancer.
When she’s not at work, Dr. Carchman enjoys spending time with her family.
