Venkat Rao, MD, MBA, is a UW Health plastic surgeon and a professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
Dr. Rao specializes in reconstructive and cosmetic breast surgery. He offers a range of procedures, including breast reduction and augmentation (breast implants) and reconstruction after mastectomy (breast cancer surgery to remove the entire breast). He also performs other cosmetic surgeries such as tummy tucks, liposuction and gender-affirming surgery (transitioning from male to female gender or female to male gender).
Known for his commitment to excellence, Dr. Rao ensures that his patients receive prompt, safe and compassionate care. He takes time to discuss their concerns and helps them find options that fit their goals. He believes it’s a privilege to help people who have struggled to feel confident in their bodies.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Rao conducts research on the influence of certain economic factors and private equity on the plastic surgery industry.
I strive to address patients’ needs and ensure they are completely satisfied with their results.
