Acerca de

Alison Peters, PsyD, is a UW Health clinical and behavioral health psychologist. Alison treats both adults and children who are in the hospital due to acute (sudden) or chronic (ongoing) medical problems. Her patients face many challenging issues, including complex diagnoses, traumatic injuries and long hospitalizations.

As a health psychologist, Alison understands that sick and injured people experience a wide range of emotions. She helps her patients cope with their diagnoses, deal with depression and anxiety, and manage ongoing pain. She also partners with medical teams to support patients as they undergo treatments and surgery.

With compassion and care, Alison listens to her patients’ concerns. She works to identify their needs and help them develop coping strategies to manage their emotions and keep a sense of well-being.

Alison’s special interests include helping people cope with grief and loss, serious injuries and the organ transplant process. She’s also interested in caregiver stress and wellness and the interconnection between physical and mental health.

During her free time, Alison enjoys walking her dog, listening to audiobooks, baking, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

I am honored to sit and listen to people during a very challenging point in their lives and help them cope with their health issues.
